this one is better

I am going to change my profile picture to show the newbie kitty--need the url for google. I'll also tweak the name of blog to indicate the changing of the "guard" SOOOOOO here is a much better picture of Skyler---yep, that name is it. I like it, DJ likes it so Skyler it is. Think I'll ever get used to saying him, he or kitty BOY instead of her, she or kitty GIRL??

I have cut out a quilt top to make a memorial quilt for Pippi from a stash cat fabric and some donation fabric that I newly acquired. Pam wanted to do this for her and donate the quilt for her quilts for Mexico. She emailed the other day with a link for the pattern she chose to use--her top is done or near done. Isn't that a sweet thing to do? I'm using the same pattern and will sew a bit after supper. I want to see how the Viking is doing for piecing. BTW, my diagnosis was correct--I needed a new bobbin case in addition to the normal clean out and maintenance.
K. best decide what we are having for dinner and get out there to rustle it up.

  1. Ahhhh - welcome little Skyler *s* He'll be right at home, approving all fabric and quilts in no time and you'll quickly adjust to calling him 'your little kitty man'

  2. All my fur-friends have been male so if I had to change to female I, too, would have a hard time. So sorry about Pippi but Skylar seems to have found a spot in your heart too.

  4. My favorite cat was a black and white. He would play fetch with a tin foil ball..and would 'twitch' the tip end of his tail on command! Welcome Skyler! He looks right at home on that perch!

  6. Oh, Linda, I just now read about Pippi and can't tell you how sorry I am. I have so enjoyed reading about Pippi these past couple of years and had grown very fond of her. I know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet. Our precious Natasha was just diagnosed with diabetes and is still in the hospital while the vet is trying to get her ketones corrected. We miss her and have been to see her and pet her each day. So glad you've found a new kitty. Take care.

  7. Hooray!! After saying she and her for 20 years! it did take some time but after a few months it just got normal to say BOY! Now my pretty boys never get called she.

SO glad that Skyler is settling in and using the cat stuff. Glad he found the window hammock so inviting too!

  8. Your little cat is known as a "tuxedo cat". This refers to the cat's coloring, ie bicolor; white and black. Love the name you selected for him and it looks like he has found home. Welcome to blogland, little Skyler.

  9. Enjoy your new kitty :-)

Thanks for sharing the link to that quilt you are going to make, I really really like that pattern. Its going in my 'make to donate' pile- just the right size, simple to piece and good for using a nice novelty print. Perfect for donations!
